Margie’s story
How it all started
I started my career journey as a hairdresser and stylist in 2008 in my husband’s hometown Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Taking care of my customers’ hair has quickly become my passion. It didn’t take long for me to realize that creating personal styles for my clients is what makes me happy. As an Armenian immigrant in Bulgaria, I had a lot to learn. Adapting to a new culture wasn’t easy. Led by my newly discovered passion and natural persistence and with the help of my supportive family, I found my community and thrived professionally.
Another huge change was on the horizon. In 2010, my husband won a Green Card, and we moved to the USA the following year. We settled in Atlanta. We had to start everything from the ground up. I was ready to take on any job to support my family. But fate had another plan for me.
I was hired as a hairdresser and started working at Lucy Hair Salon. At that time, I freely spoke three languages, but English wasn’t one of them. I am incredibly thankful and forever grateful for the opportunity I was given. Lucy took a chance on me and gave me a solid foundation for my future success.
Five years later, I felt that it is time for me to take the next step in my career and take my license. I joined Tony & Guy Academy. After graduation and several months working for another salon, I felt ready to go even further and open my place. I was blessed with the opportunity to open Hair Salon in East Cobb in 2017 and follow my passion, turning it into a favorite beauty spot.
Miracles happen, and if you have the strength and the persistence to follow your dreams, anything is possible.
